A few words about your email provider...
Please ensure that your email provider is not "filtering"
the emails you are about to receive from PI, particularly your confirmation
email! (If you are with AOL,
have a Hotmail or Yahoo-type address, and you do not
receive your confirmation email almost immediately, please check your
"junk" folder and change your settings so that
PowerfulIntentions.com emails can pass the filter or spam checker.)
You may request that your confirmation email be resent to you in
the event it doesn't arrive. See the next line below to read how to do that.
I didn't receive my confirmation email, how do I have it resent?
Go back to the http://www.powerfulintentions.com page

"We already have a user with this email" and a paragraph with a link in it that says,
"Please resend the original signup email.

Are my posts and profile private? / Can my forum posts be deleted?
All info (profile pages) and other pages you get when you join Powerful Intentions are public.
It is up to you what you place on your intro page and you can change it whenever you like.
Unless you place a post on a PRIVATE forum all posts on forums are public.
We are a highly ranked site and millions of people can see your post.
Some people do not want their posts public so for them it is best to join a private forum, which are by invitation only.
For others, the fact that we are so easily found on search engines and millions read our forums, blogs, photos etc.,
is a fantastic benefit of membership. Law Of Attraction is always at work, one way or the other!
While you may change your profile page by yourself at any time, we do not remove posts made by members on
forums unless we deem them objectionable, so please keep this in mind when you post.
A post is a co-creative part of an entire thread - a conversation. If one post is deleted it changes that conversation.
While our policy is to not delete posts, we reserve the right to delete any post we consider universally inappropriate or offensive and you are welcome to request deletion of your post by it's forum founder listed at the top of the forum's main page. Each forum is "owned" and "moderated" by it's founder. If you leave the community, your posts will remain,

We at Powerful Intentions.com, Inc. intend for all posts, information, and content created by ourselves and our
members to be of uplifting value to ourselves and others.

will appear in the resulting list.

What is a Public forum and what is a Private forum?
You can create 4 forums with your PI Abundant Membership, 2 public and 2 private.
A public forum can be seen by anyone and everyone that surfs by. See a list of all the public forums by
name, click on your "Forum" tab or in "My Stuff" on the "All Forums" link in the "Edit" menu.
A private forum is by invitation from the founder of the forum only and is accessible only to those invited.
How do I edit or manage my forums?
Go to "My Stuff" and under "My Forums" click on "Forums".
How do I change the forum type - from public to private?
It is not recommended that a private forum EVER be changed to a public one. The forum members have likely been
posting "private" or "intimate" questions and conversations - the forum SHALL NOT be made public without express
permission of all subscribed. It is best to delete the forum and create a new one. See "How do I Delete
one of my forums? below. There is no issue with changing a Public forum to Private however.
This can be done by
going to "My Stuff" and under "My Forums" click on "Forums". On the "Edit Forums" page pull down the menu
beside "Type *" and pick "private", then click on "OK".
How do I create a Forum: From your MY Stuff page, click down the left side on My Forums.
This takes you to a new page of with a list of all your forums. Near
the top click on
Start New forum.
On the next page you will see where to fill in the blanks to start a
new forum.
The first box Name: This is where you place in The Title of your Forum.
example: Basic Website Design Forum
Next, create a URL Name. Using the above example, I would
choose: websitedesign
NOTE, the URL must be all one word, no spaces.
Next up is the charter box. This information you type in here is what
goes on your newly created forum page so anyone can see when they go to
your forum. Kind of like an overview.
The next Box says co-founders. This is where you can add anyone else by
typing in their username. This person will co found this forum with
you.
You can next create your posting policy, self explanatory information
already provided on page.
Select Public or Private Next, you can create two public forums and two private forums, select
which one you desire to create.
In the next box, A Short Description, this is what people will see when
they check out all the forums listings. A brief and catchy description
is effective here.
Finally, choose a Forum category that best describes your new forum.
Be sure and click okay so that it is created and saved.
Once this is done, you can go to your forum page and will now see your
newly created forum in your list.
How do I delete one of my forums?
Are you sure you want to delete your forum or do you want to change it to another name?
If you do want to create a different forum, with a different name, it is really easy.
And, we recommend only making these changes when absolutely necessary.
Whenever a URL is changed, the search engines require time to update.
And the "old URL" will end up as a broken link, if anyone finds it in the search engines.
The search engine change will also happen if
you disable your forum.
Here's how to do create a Different Forum:
Go to My Stuff.
From the Edit Menu, click on My Forums
From the specific Forum, click on Edit
Change the Name of the Forum to whatever you want.
Change the URL Name to whatever you want.
Change the Charter and the Short Description
Actually "Deleting" (Disabling) the Forum
If you still want to "delete" your current forum go to "Edit Forum".
On the Edit Forum page, see the first Label "Enabled?"
From the drop down box, select "No" to disable your forum.
Disabling your forum has the same effect as deleting it. Once disabled, no-one can use your forum.
If someone else wants to take over your forum, it can be enabled so the other person can own it. Please
ask Help Desk Customer Service for assistance ( at the Help Forum ) if you want to allow someone else
to take over your forum.
How do I post a "founder's notice" or make a post "sticky"?
A founder's notice is a "sticky post", it sticks at the top of the forum and is the way to "state the rules" of
engagement and behaviour in your forum. Hopefully a new visitor to your forum will "Read This First"
if you put that in the Title of the post.
To create a "founder's notice" click on "Start New Topic". Fill in your post as usual. Before you hit "OK" or
"Preview" make sure the "Keep On Top" box is checked off.
Can I advertise my business on the forums?
Yes and no. The first place to check is at the forum you are considering, the founder usually has a notice
posted with their own "rules of conduct", and they are different for each founder. If there is no notice posted,
use the following as a general guideline on "advertising etiquette"...
You cannot directly advertise in a Powerful Intentions public forum and yet,
every post you make is by default "advertising". Each time you post others will see your picture
and have a link available to click through to your Intro Page where you are welcomed and encouraged
to advertise whatever your heart desires - afterall, that is your space, a benefit of membership.
Be assured, those most in alignment with what you have
to say and offer will click through!
For those that may not know, they will be referred to this document, if continued posting of "spammed" (unsolicited)
messages continues, membership to the PI community will be terminated immediately.
Currently the PI website software does not re-size images on the fly as they are uploaded.
See "How do I re-size a picture?" in the "Other" section of this page to obtain software
to re-size your pictures before uploading them.
Automatic picture re-sizing is under development and will be available soon.
How do I upload a picture of me to my "Intro" page?
Go to "My Stuff", then to "My Intro Page" and click on "My Portrait". A recommended size for
your picture is "150 pixels" in width, let the height take care of itself with "aspect ratio". Your file must
be in ".jpg" or ".gif" format.
How do I add HTML and marketing links or images to my Intro page?
Powerful Intentions does not directly support assisting it's members how to do "HTML". Dressing up your pages is easy
though! There are 2 freeform areas for entering HTML text to your intro page. HTML is also supported in your blogs
and in forum posts. An "HTML Editor" is built into the site and is intended to be used by those that do not know how
to "code" in HTML language.
For those who know how to code in the HTML language If you know how to "code" in the HTML language, make sure the "Edit HTML" box is checked in
the upper right corner of the editor. Use a Plain Text Editor to "code" your HTML before copying and pasting the code into the
box. Do NOT use Word or Dreamweaver to Code your HTML. Some of the HTML code created by Word and Dreamweaver is not
compatible with the Powerful Intentions software, and your HTML code may get very messed up.
How do I make a link "clickable"?
Powerful Intentions does not directly support assisting it's members how to do "HTML". Use the Powerful Intentions HTML
editor to "liven up" your link by clicking on the "Link Button".
You will see this box come up:
Type the link you want your viewer to go to in the "URL:" box and the text you want your
viewer to see in the "Text:" box then click on the "Insert Link" button.
The PI Membership Library is a feature available to
Abundant Members only.
The Library is currently under renovation since moving over to the new platform.
The Founders here at Powerful Intentions think it would be nice to have all the powerful features
we enjoyed on the old software platform...and the PI membership library will be re-deployed bigger
and better than ever very shortly!
Currently, you can pull documents into your Public library from the PI Membership library and they don't show
up on your Public page. An alternative way to display your favorites in your library is to
publish it to your Public library directly without using the PI Membership Library.
How do I turn email alerts on and off?
To manage your blog, friends or messaging alerts go to "My Stuff" then to "My Settings" and click on "Settings".
To manage your forum alerts go to "My Stuff" then to "My Forums" and click on "Forums".
How do I attach a document to a message?
You cannot send a file attachment along with a PI back-office message or with a forum post.
We recommend posting the document to your public or private PI library and send the link to the document
to those you want it to reach.
Currently the PI website software does not re-size images on the fly as they are uploaded.
See "How do I re-size a picture?" in the "Other" section of this page to obtain software
to re-size your pictures before uploading them.
Automatic picture re-sizing is under development and will be available soon.
How do I upload a picture to my photo album?
Go to "My Stuff" then to "My Photos" and click on "Photos".
You will want to create an album to upload the photo to first, at the "Edit Photos and Albums" page,
click on the "Add" New Photo Album button.
To add a picture to an existing album click on the "Add" link beside the photo album title.
How do I make changes to a photo album?
Go to "My Stuff" then to "My Photos" and click on "Photos".
Click on "Edit" beside the photo album title.
How do Delete a photo album?
Go to "My Stuff" then to "My Photos" and click on "Photos".
Delete Each Photo from the Album, then you will see a link asking you if you want to delete the album.
Why did I get a Password Emailed to Me from PI? If you forget your password there is a link to click just below the Log in Box. Click on the link and you will be asked to type
in your username. The PI server will then email you a new password to the email address used when you registered for Powerful Intentions.
Ocasionally, someone may type in the wrong username, or misspell their username and it turns out to be yours.
They may ask us why they never got their forgotten password (because it was sent to YOU) and you may wonder why you got this
message. Now you know.
So, if this happens to you, simply change the new password back to your old password or any password you choose (or leave the new one
if you can remember it.)
Why did I NOT Get My Passord Mailed to Me from PI? If you forgot your password and requested your password from the log in link and did not receive it, the most common causes for this are:
You have some sort of email filter on either your browser ISP or server. Make sure you have the domain powerfulintentions.com in
your address book and as an allowed domain for your filters.
You may have used an old email address or an incorrect one when you registered. Your password is emailed only to the email address you
provided when you joined or have edited within your PI account.
You typed in the wrong username by mistake or misspelled it, and the password that belongs to THAT account, went to that person's email address.
(which will not help you and confuses them!) So, make sure your username is correct and try again.
If all else fails you may need to re-register with a new username and email, and then contact the help forum once you are able to log in,
so we can help you get access to your original membership and pages.
How do I change my intentions?
You cannot change the original intention you set when you joined PI. It's a done deal and it sticks no matter what.
Once an intention is launched it is 99.999% manifest. So go get yourself lined up for it's arrival!
COOKIE SOLUTIONS - And what the heck are cookies anyway?
A "cookie" is a small piece of information sent by a web server to store on a web browser so it can later be read back
from that browser. This is useful for having the browser remember some specific information. Cookies are used by
your browser to store things like User IDs and passwords. To ensure your browser is ready to use Powerful Intentions
make sure you don't have "cookies blocked". To do this:
Using Internet Explorer version 5 or 6 browser -
Click on Tools -> Internet Options
then click on the "Privacy" tab. Under "Web Sites" Click the edit button and enter in the web site address as shown below: powerfulintentions.com
"powerfulintentions.com" (do not use the "www"). Click "ALLOW" then "OK". Now close your browser and reopen it again.
Go back to the powerfulintentions.com "LOGON" and enter your email address and password.
Using Netscape 6 or 7 browser -
Click on Edit -> Preferences.
In the Category list, DOUBLE click on "Privacy & Security" then "Cookies" appears on the next line. Click on Cookies.
If disabled, click one of the "Enable" options.
We suggest "Enable cookies based on privacy setting". If you click "View" you can get specific about
how secure you need to be. We suggest "medium". You can review your stored cookies by clicking
"Manage Stored Cookies". Use this to check that cookies are allowed for this site.
While on the powerfulintentions.com site, click on Tools -> Cookie Manager and
IF "Unblock stored cookies" is NOT grayed out (meaning that cookies are allowed) click it so that our site is unblocked.
IF you are using other cookie blocking software. Look for the options that selectively allow cookies for specific sites.
Enter powerfulintentions.com as an ALLOWED site.
Don't enter the "www" because this is assumed. If you still have questions, please
click here to send an email to PI's help team.
How do I toss my cookies and temporary internet files within Internet Explorer?
Sometimes the browser can get the cookies mixed up and the end result is resistance around logging into the site.
It is necessary to clear the cookies and temporary folders to alleviate the confusion.
From the top menu, select "Tools" then "Internet Options" press the "Delete Cookies" button, then OK.
Press the "Delete Files" button, put a check in the box next to the left of where it says: "Delete all offline content"
then click on OK, Click OK again, and close the browser window. Open a new browser and any resistance should have
disappeared when you "deleted all offline content".
The Red "X" and MIE - (Microsoft Internet Explorer)
If you are seeing red x's instead of pictures, something's up with your browser settings.
Viewing the site with another browser - "Netscape" or "Firefox", will confirm this if you
can see the pictures. Here's how to take the necessary steps to ensure your "MIE" settings
are correct:
Why are there strange characters in my post?
Probably because you're copying and pasting from Microsoft Word.
Doing that brings with it a lot of extra Microsoft character encodings
that don't translate well with the PI website software.
You can fix this by:
Typing your posting directly into the submission box.
Manually replacing characters such as quotation marks, apostrophes and dashes
after you've pasted your posting into the submission box.
Using a plain-text editor.
Saving your original Word document as a plain text (.txt) file before you copy the text to paste.
How do I re-size a picture?
"IrfanView" is a simple to use and free image editing program that we recommend
for quick re-sizing or editing of your images for uploading to your website. If you run into any challenges at all
just ask for a hand with it in the Powerful Intentions or the Web Design forum, someone will be glad to walk
you through re-sizing a picture.
*Currently the PI website software does not re-size images on the fly as they are uploaded.
Automatic picture re-sizing is under development and will be available soon.
